Top 10 Beaches to Visit in Paros, Greece in 2023

Paros is a gem of an island, famous for its stunning beaches that range from serene, unspoiled sands to bustling spots lined with chic bars and restaurants.

After traveling extensively through the Cycladic islands, Paros quickly became my favorite, thanks to its beautiful beaches and charming towns. It has plenty of fun activities and should definitely be on your Greece travel itinerary.

I stayed in Parikia, which is perfect for first-time visitors. It’s well-connected to the rest of the island, and the finest beaches are just a short drive away. Whether you’re looking to swim in clear seas, sunbathe with a cocktail in hand, try out watersports, or just dip your toes in the Aegean, there’s a beach for you on Paros.

You can either rent a car to create your own beach-hopping itinerary or use local buses to explore the island’s many beautiful beaches. Most beaches in Paros are public and free to access, with amenities such as lifeguards, toilets, showers, and nearby restaurants.

Some of Greece’s most beautiful beaches are on Paros. Here are the top 10 to consider:

Piperi Beach: Close to Naoussa and nearby hotels, Piperi is a mix of yellow sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. If you visit Naoussa, you’ll find that this lively beach, which is good for riding waves, offers a quaint charm and no need to rent sunbeds; just find some shade under the trees. Hotels near Piperi offer everything from budget accommodations to more luxurious stays.

Monastiri Beach: My personal favorite, Monastiri, has a serene cove-like shape with red-toned sand and clear blue water, ideal for families due to its shallow seas. Accessible by car or boat, it offers loungers for a fee, and it’s perfect for kayaking or paddleboarding. Nearby, you’ll find quiet, high-end accommodations.

Santa Maria Beach: Located five kilometers east of Naoussa, this large white sand beach with calm, turquoise waters is perfect for families and novice swimmers. Santa Maria has both organized and unorganized sections, and it’s a good spot for kayaking and paddleboarding. The accommodation options here are luxurious and peaceful.

Chrissi Akti (Golden Beach): A Blue Flag beach located 20 kilometers from Parikia, Chrissi Akti is perfect for watersports like kayaking and paddleboarding. It’s less crowded and has great amenities. The northeastern end, Nea Chrissi Akti, is known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with accommodation options that fit various budgets.

Parikia Beach: A quick walk from Paros Port, this beach is popular with both tourists and locals. Known for its beautiful sunsets and convenient location near Parikia town, it’s ideal for romantic picnics. Accommodation options range from budget-friendly hotels to more central locations with all amenities closeby.

Parasporos Beach: Just three kilometers from the Paros ferry port, Parasporos is the best beach for swimming, with golden sand, picture-perfect blue waters, and a tranquil atmosphere. It offers sun loungers and a good beach restaurant, with affordable accommodations nearby.

Kolimbithres Beach: Famous for its otherworldly landscape of white granite rocks, Kolimbithres can get crowded in summer but is worth a visit. Accessible by car, public bus, or water taxi, it’s a unique spot with comfortable nearby accommodations.

Alyki Beach: Thirteen kilometers from Parikia, Alyki offers a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere with green hills and clear water. It doesn’t have beach clubs, ensuring a chilled vibe. There are many affordable hotels and eateries offering excellent value for money.

Lageri Beach: An off-the-beaten-track option, Lageri is a remote beach with golden sand, blue water, and some privacy. It has a nudist section and no nearby amenities, so bring a picnic. Accommodations within walking distance offer comfort and value.

If you’re a beach lover, Paros is the ideal spot. Each beach offers something unique, and the best beaches in Paros will leave a lasting impression long after your visit.
