Top 21 Must-Experience Activities in Paros for 2023

Paros is a beautiful island in the heart of the Cyclades in Greece, home to over 10,000 people and boasting 120 kilometers of coastline. The island is known for its serene landscapes, fertile valleys, rolling hills scattered with small churches and monasteries, and endless sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters.

Not only is the natural scenery breathtaking, but Paros also offers a variety of activities to keep you entertained. It’s widely regarded as one of the best places to visit in Greece.

On Paros, you’ll find ancient medieval ruins, picturesque white towns and villages, and plenty of tavernas, bars, and cafes. You can enjoy all of this, along with reasonable prices, excellent tourist facilities, and warm hospitality. Many see Paros as the quintessential Greek island experience, reminiscent of what Mykonos was like 20 years ago but without the crowds and high prices.

My partner and I fell in love with Paros so much that we’ve visited for four consecutive years and feel like family when we’re there. The island offers a perfect mix of things to do and see, catering to everyone’s interests.

The best time to visit Paros is between May and October, with peak season being July and August when the weather can be hot and windy. June and September are less crowded yet still lively. The ‘Meltemi’ wind blows through the Cyclades, making Paros a popular spot for windsurfing and wakeboarding.

You can reach Paros by boat or plane. Ferries connect Paros to major ports like Piraeus and Rafina, and the local airport, upgraded in 2016, provides further connectivity. Public buses are an affordable way to get around the island, and there are also plenty of rental options for cars, quad bikes, and scooters.
